Cruquiuswerf is completely sold out

A home in Amsterdam Oost borough, in a fabulous location!

All of the new houses and apartments in Cruquiuswerf offer spectacular views of the quay and the surrounding water. The area will host an assortment of cappuccino cafés, galleries, artist studios and a miscellany of urban boutiques and shops – adding sparkle and fun to everyday life. The mix of a varied range of residential buildings, workspaces, amenities and the proximity to the city will certainly make Cruquiuswerf the place to be!

Cruquiuswerf is a somewhat forgotten peninsula, completing the row of KNSM island, Sporenburg and Borneo island. Once, this was a rough-and-tumble industrial dock. Today, it is a wonderful place to call home. The views of the water are phenomenal. It is a place to swim and take a boat ride, to have lunch and go for a stroll, to party and daydream… A mere ten minutes from the city center, yet an oasis of peace and quiet due to the lack of through-traffic on the peninsulas. All these advantages – the open water, the proximity to the city (to one side) and the Beltway (to the other) and the tranquility of a peninsula – come together on Cruquius island.

Urban ApartmentsThe new Eastern Dock

On the last peninsula of Amsterdam’s Eastern Docklands (Oostelijk Havengebied), work is underway on the realization of Cruquiuswerf, the new Eastern Dock. The most central part of the ‘elbow’ of this industrial island will see the realization of a fan-shaped collection of elegant apartment buildings, with urban apartments, townhouses, penthouses and city apartments, a total of approximately 300 newly built residences.

A delightful mix of water, concrete, boats and elegant architecture

It may take a little imagination now, but look around this former industrial island and it’s not hard to see the contours of an amazing neighborhood. It is home to historic industrial buildings and new office hubs, gorgeous residential buildings (under construction), the forgotten wine warehouses of a former wine importer, a sweet little house from our West Indies era (het Insulindehuisje), but also unrefined factories – such as the old paint factory next to Cruquiuswerf, which is in the process of being transformed into a creative hotspot. This melting pot of industrial heritage and new elegant architecture is exactly what makes this island so beautiful. And at the very heart of the island, where the water ‘turns the corner’: Cruquiuswerf .

Surrounded by water

Cruquiuswerf is located in the ‘bend’ of the island, with Amsterdam-Rhine Canal to one side (where the canal flows into the IJ) and the Nieuwevaart canal, which leads to the city, to the other. Watch the boats float by throughout the day, ranging from sand boats and freight ships to super yachts and sloops.

Trendy Amsterdam Oost within walking distance

Amsterdam Oost borough is hip, hot and happening. In recent years, particularly Javastraat, Oosterpark and the area around Dappermarkt have seen countless new coffee bars, cafés and terrific vintage and fashion boutiques pop up. All complementing the area’s existing array of roti-kitchens, Asian delis and Mediterranean convenience stores and greengrocers. A perfect blend, attracting an increasingly young and urban crowd.
